Sara Finigan has developed a successful practice helping both corporate and individual clients develop and implement strategies to navigate complex business matters. She represents businesses in financing, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and employee and executive compensation. She also counsels individuals and business entities in both public and private securities transactions. She brings in-depth experience to clients of all sizes, from startups and emerging ventures to publicly held companies. Sara regularly acts as an informal outside general counsel for companies that have chosen not to appoint a general counsel, advising them on a broad spectrum of business and contract matters. In addition to her extensive experience in business and corporate issues, Sara advises issuers and investors on all aspects of transactions in public and private securities. She counsels her clients in all stages of U.S. and international securities transactions from pre-transaction planning through initial issue, resale, and exit strategy. Joint venture enterprises are a significant part of Sara’s practice, and she has particular experience in advising developer clients on the negotiation and funding of joint ventures for the development of real property. Sara is managing partner of the firm and a former co-chair of the Corporate practice group. Sara serves on the Board of Directors of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights of the San Francisco Bay Area. Sara received her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida (1994) and her law degree from Santa Clara University (1997).
