Ross Barfoot practice is focused on cross border and regional M&A, joint ventures, private equity, corporate restructurings and foreign direct investment. He leads our MENA education sector team and also has a particular focus on the oil and gas, defence, retail/food & beverage/franchise and media sectors. Ross is an English qualified corporate partner with over 10 years experience. He is based in the firm's Abu Dhabi office but operates across the MENA region. Ross advises corporates, management teams and shareholders on a range of corporate transactions including M&A, disposals, private equity transactions (fund formations, buyouts, buy-ins, exits), joint ventures, corporate re-organisations (including pre-IPO restructurings), and IPOs. Ross leads our MENA education sector team which comprises specialist lawyers across a range of disciplines, providing joined-up commercial, pragmatic and innovative advice to education sector clients on all aspects of their business. Ross regularly advises investors and international operators on education investments, corporate and regulatory matters. Ross has worked in Abu Dhabi since February 2008 and advises international and regional companies on conducting business in the UAE and wider MENA region. He has developed an expert knowledge of local law and practice.
