Herbert Swaniker Bio

Herbert Swaniker advises on artificial intelligence, technology, data, privacy, and cyber advisory and transactional matters. He has international expertise on technology regulation and policy matters. Herbert supports global organisations to create AI and data oversight frameworks to drive innovation. He also provides strategic and programmatic advice to companies on technology law relating to emerging technologies, crisis management, and strategic technology transactions. He is a leader in the firm's Africa Group and is active on pan-African AI/technology initiatives. He regularly engages with industry leaders, policymakers and regulatory bodies, which is reflected in his contributions to industry debates, policy forums and citations by international media (including the BBC, CNBC, City A.M., and The Telegraph). Herbert is a trustee and board/council member of the international policy institute, Chatham House. He is also a member of the firm's AI leadership group.
