Andrew Wright Bio

Andrew is the great-great-grandson of the founder of Clarkson Wright & Jakes Ltd. He achieved First Class Honours in the Law Society final examination and trained with a Holborn firm. Upon qualification in 1987, Andrew worked with a major city firm before joining Clarkson Wright & Jakes Ltd in 1989. He was originally managing partner of CWJ from 1993 to 2000 and then spent three years in industry in Hong Kong gaining international experience in IT and commercial law. On his return, he resumed the position of managing partner until 2019 when he became Senior Partner. Andrew is chairman of the Chelwood Club, a club founded by Harold Macmillan in 1960 (during his time as MP for Bromley) and consists of around 60 members, most of whom live or work in the Bromley borough. Bob Neill, the MP for Bromley and Chislehurst since 2006, is an honorary member and arranges political speakers at the dinners held twice a year. The dinners alternate between the House of Commons and the Army & Navy Club and have welcomed former prime ministers as well as an array of cabinet ministers as guest speakers. Andrew has been named in the Chambers Directory (a leading guide to the UK legal profession) as a leading individual in Kent and Sussex for Corporate and Finance work. He is a Freeman of the City of London and a Notary Public. He is also a keen sportsman, regularly playing tennis and golf.
