Sergio Diez Bio

Prior to merging with Cariola, he was a founding partner of Díez Pérez-Cotapos Limitada, experts mainly in mining and natural resources, where an important transnational client base was created. Experienced in negotiating complex transactions involving multiple companies from very different economic activities, with many sides, parties, assets and jurisdictions. Sergio joined the firm in 1999. He is an expert lawyer in corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions. He leads the Firm’s Corporate Group III and has been focused in representing large and medium-sized companies, such as Whirlpool, Experian, Texaco, Mitsubishi Power, Empresas Públicas de Medellín, Intercontinental Hotel, Sheraton Hotel, Casinos Marina del Sol, Organización Terpel Colombia, Pescanova, Adidas, SGS, Chevron, Grupo Bursátil Mexicano, Sterling & Wilson, Canadian Solar, Cofco China, Cooke Aquaculture, Fall Creek Farm and Nursery on a day-to-day basis, among others. Created and directed until 2024 the Asia Pacific area of the Firm, leading the relationships with Asian clients, especially Chinese. From 2001 to 2024, he has headed the Sales and Marketing department of the Firm. As a member of the Bar Association, he created the Probono Committee of the Bar Association.
