Jeff Klam Bio

Jeff, a Partner of Caravel Law, is a corporate and securities lawyer with over 20 years of experience. Jeff’s practice focuses on M&A and financing transactions. Jeff’s practice commenced at a leading large Bay Street law firm as a member of the firm’s securities law practice group. Jeff then acted as counsel in the Corporate Finance Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission, he then pivoted to a role as General Counsel of a gold mining company with operations in Southeast Asia and public reporting obligations in Canada, Australia, and the United States. Looking to return to private practice, Jeff joined Caravel Law. In the decade since joining Caravel, Jeff has found passion in working closely with and supporting entrepreneurs in the start-up ecosphere from incorporation and seed financing, through venture capital financings and to exit or going public transactions. Jeff leverages his unique blend of large law firm, regulatory and general counsel experience to provide first-class, efficient and practical guidance to his client base. Jeff has also served on the board of directors of a number of private and public companies. Outside of his career pursuits, Jeff loves waterskiing, debating whether judging should be part of ski jumping, and is a coach of an under-11 AA club in the Greater Toronto Hockey League.
