Kirsten Debono Huskinson mainly practices in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, corporate restructuring as well as domestic and international tax advisory and tax restructuring, providing advice particularly in the remit of identifying and advising on the legal and tax implications of local as well as cross-border transactions. Kirsten regularly assists in advising clients on the legal aspects of a wide range of commercial transactions and contracts and on the legal formalities and implications resulting therefrom, particularly from a corporate and civil law perspective. In this regard, Kirsten particularly specialises in advising on and drafting legal documentation providing for transactions involving share or asset purchases, joint ventures and shareholders’ agreements. Kirsten also regularly assists clients in governance matters, including assisting with preparing for and attending board meetings and advising on related policies and procedures. Kirsten also regularly assists on corporate support and compliance issues. In addition, Kirsten has been actively involved in the establishment and registration of a number of Maltese trusts and foundations, including voluntary organisations, and with assisting such entities with their ongoing administration and advising on the legal implications and compliance issues resulting from their status. She also regularly assists both local and international clients and structures with their ongoing corporate, commercial and tax requirements. Kirsten also assists with representing clients in courts and fiscal tribunals on direct and indirect taxation matters. Kirsten regularly speaks at a number of local and international seminars and conferences, in particular on matters of corporate and commercial law, as well as local tax regime updates and developments.
