Bio

Ann Seger leads finance transactions in all sizes, types, and structures, with a particular focus on sponsor-backed acquisition financings. Ann has significant experience in senior and subordinated debt facilities, asset-based financings, syndicated loan transactions, acquisition financing, and cross-border and multi-currency transactions. During her years of practice, Ann has represented clients in financing transactions totaling over $3 billion across an array of industries. Since 2021, Ann has been recognized as a Leading Lawyer in Banking & Finance by Chambers USA in Ohio, most recently in Band 2 (2024). Chambers USA researchers noted, "Ann is experienced across a range of financings, in particular those connected with M&A." Clients interviewed by Chambers USA researchers stated, "Ann is good at understanding the nuances of a deal and is reasoned in her approach. She is down-to-earth and has a good pulse on the market, with a good negotiating style. She is detail-oriented, incredibly responsive, and always happy to help, regardless of the time of day. Ann is licensed in Ohio and Illinois and is a member of the ACG Women in Transactions (WiT) committee. In 2023, Ann was appointed Vice Chair of the firm's Corporate and Finance practice group and Chair of Calfeeā€™s Associates Committee. Before joining Calfee as a Partner in 2019, Ann was an Associate at a global law firm. She received her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Toledo College of Law, where she served as the Note & Comment Editor of the University of Toledo Law Review.
