Allan Yeoman is a partner in Buddle Findlay's Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) team. He specialises in providing transactional, procurement, regulatory and contracting advice on technology-related projects, as well as advising on privacy compliance and data management programmes. He works with a wide range of clients in the public and private sectors, supporting their procurement, use, development and commercialisation of technology solutions and other forms of intellectual property. In recent years, he has been involved in some of the largest M&A and other corporate transactions in the New Zealand TMT sector, advising clients on IT due diligence and separation and/or integration of IT systems. Allan has also worked with a number of healthtech providers and healthcare sector agencies, including Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand (previously DHBs), on the procurement and implementation of new healthcare technical solutions. Allan is a leading privacy and data protection advisor, having coordinated numerous international privacy compliance programmes while working in the United Kingdom. He advises clients on all aspects of data collection and processing, data-driven business models, international data transfers, engagement of cloud service providers, and privacy breaches and other cybersecurity matters. He is also heavily involved with Buddle Findlay's startups practice, and advises early stage and high-growth tech companies on intellectual property development, licensing, customer terms, partnership, privacy and e-commerce arrangements. Allan is recognised by Chambers as a leading practitioner in TMT, and by Legal 500 in TMT and Data Protection. Prior to joining Buddle Findlay in 2011, Allan worked at Linklaters and Lewis Silkin in London.
