Bio

Corrin N. Hatala is an associate attorney with BrownWinick and practices primarily in the areas of business and corporate law and employment-based immigration law. Corrin’s immigration practice ranges from advising clients with respect to various immigration options and issues, to the preparation of petitions for visas such as H-1B, H-2A, L-1, and TN, to the drafting of J-1 visa waiver requests. Corrin also assists business clients with regard to their varying needs, such as formation, contract drafting, financing, and transactions. Additionally, Corrin maintains a general practice, including, without limitation, corporate finance and securities law, employment and labor law, environmental law, energy and utility law, and international business transactions. Corrin serves on the Iowa State Bar Association's YLD Executive Council, as well as serving as a Board Member of the Polk County Women Attorneys. Corrin is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and is also a member of the Polk County, Iowa State, and American Bar Associations. She was admitted to the Iowa bar in 2015. Corrin graduated from Iowa State University in 2012, receiving her B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communication, with minors in History and Political Science. While at Iowa State, Corrin was the Editor-in-Chief of Ethos Magazine, was involved in the Honors Mentor Program, and served as an Ambassador and Student Advisory Board Member for the Greenlee School of Journalism and Communication. Corrin was also a member of the Iowa State University Coed Cheerleading Squad. In 2015, Corrin received her J.D., with highest honors, from Drake University Law School and was elected to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Corrin was the Executive Editor of the Drake Law Review, a Member of the Moot Court Board, and a Student Ambassador. Corrin also served as a judicial extern for Iowa Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark Cady and was a law clerk at the BrownWinick law firm.
