Megan Israelitt joined Brown & Fortunato as a member of the Labor and Employment Law and Litigation Groups. She is a member of the State Bar of New Mexico, the District of Columbia Bar and the American Bar Association. Prior to joining Brown & Fortunato, Megan spent two years clerking for the Honorable Jerry A. Wiese II, Chief Judge of the Eighth Judicial District Court in Nevada. Megan was instrumental in managing Judge Wiese’s docket and assisted Judge Wiese with drafting orders, decisions, and his weekly internal newsletter, “Wiese’s Pieces.” Under Judge Wiese’s mentorship, Megan gained invaluable insight into effective legal advocacy and court administration. Megan grew up in Southern Illinois and Henderson, Nevada. She graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership and a minor in Business Administration. Megan graduated from the Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law in 2019. While in law school, Megan was an elected representative to the Student Bar Association, appointed to the Honor Council, and involved in the Constitutional Jurisprudence Clinic. Megan also clerked for a civil rights firm in Long Beach, California, where she helped advocate for First and Second Amendment issues. In 2019, Megan won the National Law Review’s Law Student Writing Contest for her independent research article, Is Treason Applied as the Founders Intended? Megan’s law review article was subsequently published online by the National Law Review.
