Bio

Craig is a partner in Brouse McDowell’s Business Transactions & Corporate Counseling Practice Group where he oversees the firms Cybersecurity and Data Privacy client initiatives along with practicing in the areas of M&A, Technology and Real Estate Transactions. Known for his strong business acumen, Craig has a proven ability to provide candid, innovative, client first legal advice to assist corporate clients in achievement of company mission, vision, strategy, and succession goals to advance business operations. Craig has substantial experience representing companies of varying sizes, scope and industry serving as outside general counsel and a trusted business advisor, especially as it relates to mergers and acquisitions and cybersecurity and data privacy. His practice has evolved to include acting as counsel to companies through data breaches, ransomware, and malware, hacking and phishing attacks. In the event of a breach, Craig works in tandem with his client, law enforcement, and forensics and insurance providers to maintain business operations, file appropriate notifications, and negotiate recovery if the need arises. Proactively, Craig works with organizations to design their pre-breach cybersecurity plans, and he provides counsel on data privacy transactions and contract and cyber liability insurance reviews. Craig is a skilled negotiator whose candid and straightforward counsel has proved invaluable to his clients in a multitude of complex merger and acquisition transaction situations. He also works with internet and technology-based businesses to advise them on the ever-changing and emerging legal issues in today’s technology world. As a business and community leader with many years of experience Craig maintains a focus on positively impacting his community, while providing counsel, leadership and sound legal strategy to companies.
