Shannon Martin is an experienced transaction attorney, leader, and legal strategist with a practice that emphasizes the structuring and closing of complex real estate and financing transactions to advance and accelerate the short and long-term goals of her clients. Shannon blends nearly thirty years of practical experience representing public, corporate, and not-for-profit entities with her knowledge of public finance, traditional finance, real estate, and economic development law. Her diverse experience includes representation of Ohio cities, counties, school districts, port authorities, convention facility authorities, new community authorities, and other special purpose entities; not-for-profit entities including hospitals, health care providers, and universities; public utilities; and financing institutions. She serves as borrower’s/issuer’s counsel, bond counsel, underwriters' counsel, trustee’s counsel, and bank counsel on financing transactions, and regularly represents clients in real estate acquisition and development projects, particularly those that deploy or benefit from economic development tools. Shannon is a partner and market leader for the Dayton office of Bricker Graydon and has been an active volunteer leader in the greater Dayton region for over thirty years, serving in various roles with area non-profit boards such as CityWide Development Corporation, House of Bread, Women’s Recovery Center and Artemis Center, to name a few.
