Nigel Jones Bio

Nigel is a Partner in our pensions team. He advises a wide range of clients — including corporate employers, trustees, lenders, pension providers and public sector bodies — on the full range of defined benefit and defined contribution workplace pension issues and all aspects of pension law such as governance, funding, investment, scheme reconstruction/mergers, regulatory compliance and disputes. With a particular specialism in private M&A work, Nigel has acted as specialist pensions counsel for various national and international law firms on complex, high-value transaction mandates, including for private equity bidders in competitive auction processes and supporting sell-side vendor due diligence exercises. Nigel also has expertise in the pensions law aspects of investments, including investment management agreements, custody agreements, investment platform policies and the terms of pooled investment vehicles/products. Prior to joining us in December 2024, Nigel worked for another national law firm after spending a decade in the pensions practice of a global law firm and four years in a boutique pensions law firm. Nigel is based in our Leeds office.
