Cameron Maccarthy has a broad business law practice, working closely with clients as a trusted advisor to help drive innovation, create value and manage risk. He acts for a variety of market participants, including start-ups, emerging and high-growth companies, venture capital and private equity investors, family offices, and other alternative capital providers. Cameron regularly advises clients on the acquisition, disposition and growth of Canadian businesses, financing transactions, corporate governance, shareholder activism, and complex corporate reorganizations. He also provides support on family enterprise matters, including shareholder succession and transition initiatives. Cameron received his ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2022, the only professional designation for Canadian directors recognized both nationally and internationally. He currently serves as a director and advisory board member of several private businesses. Prior to joining BLG, Cameron was the co-managing partner of a boutique tax and business law firm with offices in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto. Cameron provides legal services through a Law Corporation.
