His practice areas are focused on Corporate Law, Mergers and Acquisitions, Corporate Finance, Regulation, Contracts, Construction, Licenses, as well as Real Estate, Tax Law and Telecommunications. Mr. Álvarez received his J.D. degree from the Universidad de Chile and a LL.M. degree from the Würzburg University, Germany (1992). He also holds a PhD degree from the Göttingen University, Germany (1995). Prior to joining the Firm he worked at Rädler, Raupach Bezzenberger, Frankfurt (1994), Alessandri (1995-1998) and Ossandón, Uribe & Hübner Abogados (1998-2001). He was Chairman of the German-Chilean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (2009-2010). Alejandro Álvarez is currently an Arbitrator of the Center for Arbitration and Mediation of the Santiago Chamber of Commerce (2009 -). Mr. Álvarez is author of “Tribunales Electorales Regionales” [Regional Electoral Tribunals] and “Die verfassungsgebende Gewalt des Volkes unter besonderer Berücksichtigung des deutschen und chilenischen Grundgestzes” [The Constitutional power of the people with particular consideration of the German and Chilean Constitutions] published by Peter Lang GmbH (1995).
