Ward van Loo is specialised in public procurement law, state aid law, and private construction law. Ward’s clients include semi government organisations, educational institutions, healthcare institutions, non-profit organisations, and companies in various industries. Ward advises and litigates on all aspects of public procurement law. He routinely advises on the relevance and scope of the Public Procurement Act, guides procurers in the organisation of procurement procedures, and represents his clients’ interests in both legal proceedings and complaints procedures before the Public Procurements Experts Committee. In the case of state aid, Ward advises his clients on how to set up financial transactions with a public-private dimension (government subsidies, social financing structures, state guarantees, and the sale and purchase of real estate by public bodies) to make them “state aid proof”. He also has extensive experience in setting up legally sustainable public-private partnerships and real estate related contract negotiations. Ward has worked as an attorney for Boels Zanders since 2008. He completed the Grotius European and Dutch Public Procurement Law specialisation course with honours in 2014. Ward is a member of the healthcare and education practice groups, and is a member of the Dutch Association for Public Procurement Law (NVvA) and the Association for Construction Law Attorneys (VBR-A).
