Janou Briaire is a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions team. She has extensive experience in corporate acquisitions, shareholder relations, joint ventures and corporate law issues. Janou assists recurring clients, medium-sized, national and international companies, family offices, private investors and management teams. In addition, she manages and coordinates the international cooperation and services from BZ International. Janou is very active within ADVOC, the international network of independent law firms with 90 partners in 66 countries. She is chair of the ADVOC Corporate Practice Group. Janou is also contact person for Boels Zanders' Smart Start Limburg partnership for foreign companies wanting to establish their businesses in the Netherlands. Janou Briaire has worked as a lawyer at Boels Zanders since 2006 and has been a partner since 2020. She graduated from Maastricht University (Commercial & Business Law and Private Law). Janou completed the Grotius specialization course in company and corporate law cum laude. Among the high-profile transactions that Janou has recently overseen are: the acquisition of PharmaCell, European leader in the field of cell and gene therapy manufacturing in Europe, by the Lonza Group, one of the world’s leading suppliers in pharmaceuticals and biotechnology the acquisition of Maco Customs Service by SGS, world leader in the field of inspection, monitoring, analysis and certification for international trade the sale of Dutch Filaments, one of Europe’s biggest suppliers of 3D printing components, to Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation the acquisition of Karma Europe, supplier of sustainable and innovative electric mobility solutions, by the Life & Mobility Group the acquisition of the NRC Media Group by Belgian publisher Mediahuis the acquisition of Media Group Limburg (which includes dailies De Limburger and the Limburgs Dagblad) by Concentra the sale of Wim Bosman Logistics to Mainfreight (New Zealand) acquisition of Moduli Print by Koninklijke van der Most. Janou is also Boels Zanders’ contact person for the Smart Start Limburg partnership supporting foreign enterprises seeking to establish themselves in the Netherlands, and is both the firm’s representative for our international network Advoc and Deputy Coordinator of Junior Advoc. Janou has been working as an attorney for Boels Zanders since 2006. She became partner in 2020. Janou graduated from Maastricht University with a degree in commercial & corporate law and private law. She completed the Grotius specialisation course in corporate law (cum laude).
