Jan Stoop advises businesses, institutions and the public sector on administrative law, with a special focus on environmental law (including soil contamination), regional development and public liability. Jan heads up Boels Zanders’ administrative law team. He is also a member of the education sector group and the Brightlands sector group. Jan has extensive experience as a litigator in administrative law and litigates regularly before the Dutch Council of State. Jan has been involved in various regional development projects, permit procedures for IPPC companies and major soil and surface water contamination cases. Jan Stoop studied at Maastricht University and Boalt Hall School of Law (University of California, Berkeley). He also completed the post-doctoral Master Program on International Legal Cooperation at Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Jan was admitted to the bar in 1993, when he started his career at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek. Jan has been working at Boels Zanders since 1998. He became a partner in 2002.
