Bio

Harm Heynen runs a real estate practice primarily focused on tenant law (residential and commercial space). Harm is also specialised in buying and selling real estate, as well as in building rights and leasehold. Harm leads the real estate team at Boels Zanders. Harm Heynen has been managing partner since 1 April 2020. He is a member of the Boels Zanders Executive Board alongside Johan Verhagen and Remco Rosbeek. Harm has a lot of experience in: Drafting lease contracts with turnover rent and clauses deviating from the law (including consent solicitations from the Subdistrict Court) in Dutch, English, and German; Rent reviews of retail spaces throughout the Netherlands (both in town and city centres and in systematically developed shopping centres); Cancellation and renovation procedures in residential and commercial spaces; Lease termination procedures for tenants causing nuisance (residential space), late payments, and for cannabis cultivation and violation of the Opium Act (primarily residential space); Procedures regarding subleasing and compliance with operating requirements; Enforcement disputes during evictions; Procedures regarding service charges (residential and commercial spaces); Establishing building rights and leasehold constructions during the development of new residential and commercial areas. With years of experience in counselling and litigating, Harm has great knowledge of the retail and hospitality industry as well as the corporation sector. Harms client base includes various large housing corporations, breweries, country-wide retailers and international investors. Harm is a member of the Association of Tenancy Lawyers (VHA), the Lighthouse club Limburg, and the Real Estate Association of North Limburg. Harm is also a member of Advoc’s (the international network of independent law firms with 90 partners in 66 countries) Real Estate practice group.
