Michael Elder Bio

Michael Elder practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, private equity investments, joint ventures and corporate reorganizations. He has substantial experience negotiating and advising in connection with acquisitions and divestitures for both public and private companies, with a particular focus in the financial services, insurance and wealth management industries. During his time at Blakes, Michael has been seconded to major Canadian and global banks, as well as a leading Canadian insurance company. Michael also regularly acts for a variety of companies in connection with complex corporate structuring, private governance matters and corporate reorganizations, including advising foreign companies on the establishment and structuring of their Canadian operations.
