Alison Bassett is a partner at Best Best & Krieger, where she is an integral member of the Health Care and Business practice groups. With nearly 25 years of experience spanning health care, real estate, corporate, finance, and mergers and acquisitions, Alison provides comprehensive legal services to a diverse range of health care providers. Her knowledge covers transactional work and regulatory compliance, enabling her clients to adeptly navigate the complex landscape of federal and California health care laws, including the Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute and California’s Local Health Care District Law. Alison represents a broad spectrum of clients, such as public and private nonprofit health care systems, health care districts, hospitals, primary care and outpatient clinics, medical foundations, county health care programs, management services organizations, and physician organizations, including professional corporations and independent practice associations. Her practice encompasses health care contracting, restructurings, acquisitions, leasing, and addressing regulatory issues. Alison’s prior in-house experience with a nonprofit health care system in Northern California has refined her skills in contract negotiations and real estate portfolio management. She leverages this unique blend of transactional experience and business insight to mitigate risks for her clients and guide them through a continuously evolving regulatory framework.
