Best Best & Krieger LLP Partner Thomas Sayeg serves as a member of the firm’s Business practice group. Tom, who practiced public accounting with an international accounting firm before launching his legal career, focuses his practice on business, corporate and tax law and estate planning matters. His dual experience in accounting and business law allows him to provide clients with holistic guidance on financial, business and operational goals. Tom earned his law degree from University of California Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. After Hastings, Tom attended New York University for an additional year of intensive study and received an LL.M. in Taxation. Prior to moving to Bend in 1987, Tom practiced law in the San Francisco Bay Area specializing in taxation, estate planning and business transactions. Tom has since expanded his practice to include real estate transactions, including commercial leasing. Tom served on the board of Central Oregon’s St. Charles Health System from 2007-2019 and as board chair from 2012-2014. He is also a long-time member of the Business, Estate Planning and Taxation sections of the Oregon State Bar, serving in various officer roles and as the chair of both the Business Section and Taxation Section executive committees. Tom is an American College of Trust and Estate Counsel fellow and is an author and lecturer on various business and estate planning topics. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Tax Court.
