Bio

Gina Clausen Lozier is a member of the firm's Dispute Resolution Team and focuses her practice on first and third party claims and coverage analysis. Gina is one of only two lawyers in Florida recognized in the prestigious legal publication Chambers for her work on behalf of policyholders. The other lawyer is her partner, Michael Higer. Prior to joining Berger Singerman, she was a Partner with a statewide insurance defense firm where she was responsible for overseeing the investigation and litigation of disputed claims and represented numerous Florida and out of state carriers. Ms. Clausen Lozier defended hundreds of windstorm claims following the 2004 – 2005 Hurricane Season and has been an active committee member and presenter for the Windstorm Insurance Network. She was also significantly involved in the investigation of fraudulent insurance claims from examination under oath through litigation. She was a regular presenter at the Florida Insurance Fraud Education Committee Conference and the Florida Arson Committee and Prevention Conference where she educated attendees on issues related to the investigation of fraudulent claims, including fire losses. As the former President of the Florida Chapter of the National Society of Professional Insurance Investigators (NSPII) she coordinated meetings of industry professionals to provide educational training on issues of insurance fraud with a specific focus on sinkhole, windstorm and fire losses. She has also been a panel member at NSPII’s National Conference. Ms. Clausen Lozier worked closely with the Department of Financial Services Division of Insurance Fraud, Special Investigators, Cause and Origin Experts and State Fire Marshalls while investigating suspicious insurance claims and arson losses. She continues her involvement in the fight against insurance fraud as a member of the Florida Insurance Fraud Task Force. She is also an active member of the Florida Association of Public Insurance Adjusters and the National Association of Public Adjusters. She is approved by the Department of Insurance as an instructor for continuing education courses for independent and public adjusters. Ms. Clausen Lozier regularly provides educational training on relevant insurance issues facing Florida’s Community Association Managers. She has authored and presented at numerous insurance claims industry conferences and independent professional organizations on insurance coverage issues, claims investigations, ethics, fraud investigation, incendiary fire claims and case law analysis to forums within the insurance industry and other public arenas. Ms. Clausen Lozier continues to be involved in every aspect of the insurance industry and uses her experiences to assist her clients in coverage disputes.
