Bio

Matthew Hunt is a partner and Co-Head of the firm's Private Equity Group. Matt has a diversified corporate practice with a particular focus on private equity transactions, including management and leveraged buyouts, add-on acquisitions, exits, carve-outs, co-investments, PIPEs and other strategic arrangements. He acts for private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in complex domestic and cross-border mandates across various industries. Matt's practice also includes corporate and securities law, where he advises management and boards of directors, as well as dealers and other market participants, on public and private mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions and governance matters. Matt joined the firm after several years at another leading Canadian law firm. His career includes engagements in the legal department of a major Canadian financial institution and at a prominent international trade law firm in Washington, DC.
