Aubrey J. Parker focuses her practice primarily in the area of Family Law. From simple non-contested divorces to some of the most high-profile disputes involving multi-million dollar businesses and professional athletes, Ms. Parker counsels clients on all types of family law issues, and has experience in handling matters involving same-sex couples, children of same-sex couples, pre-nuptial agreements for same-sex couples, and other LGBTQ issues. Ms. Parker is committed to ensuring that every family, whether mother and father, two mothers or fathers, children, or any other combination, is protected. Ms. Parker is well-rounded in the area of Family Law and is committed to offering her clients the highest level of compassion and professionalism while tailoring a specific strategy for each client, on a case-by-case basis. While Ms. Parker has handled numerous litigious matters and been involved in highly contested/high profile trials, when litigation can be avoided, her approach to matters includes mediation and/or collaboration to settle cases efficiently and cost-effectively. In Collaborative Practice, Ms. Parker resolves family conflicts outside of a courtroom environment, relying upon an atmosphere of honesty, cooperation and integrity with a focus on the immediate and long-term well-being of the family. Ms. Parker has completed the Divorce Mediation Skills Training program at Northwestern University, which skills and techniques she uses to resolve both amicable and high-conflict family matters. Ms. Parker is also a Fellow of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois and a member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. Ms. Parker has been named a Rising Star in the area of Family Law by Super Lawyers Magazine, a designation reserved for the top 2.5% of all Illinois attorneys under 40, and named an Emerging Lawyer by Leading Lawyers, a designation given to fewer than 2% of the attorneys in Illinois. Additionally, Ms. Parker has been featured as a guest lecturer on many issues related to Family Law, has served as a guest judge for regional competitions sponsored by the American Mock Trial Association, and serves on the Auxiliary Board for Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo. Ms. Parker received her Juris Doctorate and Certification in Child and Family Law from Loyola University of Chicago, School of Law, where she attended on a merit scholarship, was a member of the Dean’s Honor Roll, served as the Articles Editor for Loyola University’s Consumer Law Review, and represented children in domestic relations cases as a court-appointed Children’s Representative after being accepted to Loyola University’s Civitas Child Law Clinic.
