and access,
Rune Svoren is a broadly experienced generalist. He has practised in numerous fields of law, covering several sectors. Rune has non-industry specific expertise in the handling of negotiations involving multiple parties/interests, often characterised by complex interrelations between various entities, and/or the stakeholders (or some of them) also having non-commercial interests (typically public sector bodies), etc. The foundations for Rune’s transactional experience were his involvement in a number of high-profile estates administered by BAHR in the 1980s and 90s (the Reksten shipping estate, Horten Shipyard, Kongsberg Weapons Factory, Tofte Cellulose, Norwegian Ironworks, etc.). In telecommunications/media, Rune has been involved in the restructuring of, inter alia, Telenor and Eltele as limited liability companies, the breakup of the TV, radio and telephone monopolies with Kinnevik/MTG Group, negotiations for Telenor with TV2/P4 on the establishment of terrestrial broadcast transmission networks and the procurement of satellites for Telenor Satellite Services. Rune’s practise has over time evolved an energy sector focus. This includes advising the City of Oslo and Statkraft on a multitude of transactions and projects, and in relation to strategic processes, including the evaluation of alternative company/ownership structures.
