Tracy Whiriskey heads the corporate M&A practice in Tokyo and the Asian Insurance Practice. She specialises in corporate M&A, supporting Japanese corporates on their outbound investments and foreign companies on their inbound investments into Japan. She has been based in Asia for almost 20 years. She has advised on a number of high-profile and complex cross-border transactions across the Asia-Pacific region, the Americas, Europe and Africa and has expertise in a number of sectors, including in the infrastructure, energy, food & agriculture, TMT/digital economy, healthcare and resources sectors. She also has significant experience in the insurance sector, including M&A, portfolio transfers, bancassurance arrangements and restructurings. She is independently recognised by Chambers Asia Pacific 2019 as a ranked individual in Corporate/M&A and Insurance in Japan, as well as by Best Lawyers in the Insurance (Japan) category. She recently won Lawyer of the Year in the category of Insurance & Reinsurance, Japan Finance Monthly Legal Awards 2019. Tracy is qualified in England & Wales and Australia (Victoria) and is fluent in Japanese. Tracy is a registered foreign lawyer (Gaikokuho Jimu Bengoshi) in Japan.
