John Kim Bio

John K.J. Kim is a senior corporate/M&A partner of Ashurst LLP and also the head of the Korea practice group. John is a top expert in advising multinational clients, including Korea clients, in relation to cross-border M&A, projects and other corporate transactions. He has worked on many of the largest and most significant cross-border corporate / M&A and projects matters for multinational clients, including Korean clients. He has been repeatedly recognised as one of the top leading practitioners in the corporate / M&A projects areas, especially in relation to cross-border Korean related matters. John has broad experience spanning a variety of industry sectors, including financial services, energy, automotive, telecommunications, healthcare and general industrial. John is ranked Band 1 by Chambers Global and as a Leading Lawyer by Legal 500. He also has wide-ranging experience in international dispute and investigation matters, advising Korean and multinational clients and is one of the best-known lawyers in the industry in Korea, having advised on multi-billion dollar international dispute and investigation matters. He previously worked in the New York office of Cravath, Swaine & Moore. John is a partner of Ashurst LLP and a registered foreign consultant (New York) based in Hong Kong.
