Lance Lee Bio

Lance is a partner in the International Arbitration and Litigation & Dispute Resolution practices. With extensive experience representing clients before major international arbitration centers, including the ICC, ICDR, ICSID, SIAC, HKIAC, LMAA, LCIA, and the KCAB, Lance is recognized as a renowned authority in international arbitration by major publications and industry peers. Lance’s international arbitration and litigation work covers a spectrum of complex business issues facing his clients, which range from top Korean conglomerates to Fortune 500 companies. In addition to leading cross-border litigation and government investigation matters, he advises his clients regarding intellectual property, overseas investments, corporate mergers and acquisitions, and contract negotiations. He also has extensive experience in key areas of shipbuilding, stemming from his role as group general counsel for STX Shipbuilding Corporation, based in Seoul, South Korea, where he handled all of the legal aspects of overseas corporate investments and outbound arbitrations. Lance founded and co-chaired the AMCHAM Government & International Affairs Committee while serving as a partner at Kim & Chang, the largest law firm in Korea for 11 years. Additionally, as the former chief operating officer and head of the international arbitration & litigation practice at a global law firm, Lance received numerous awards for his work and was selected as one of the top 50 dispute lawyers in Asia. As evidenced by his recognition as a Gamechanger by Acquisition Finance Magazine for his visionary strategy, Lance is able to develop innovative solutions tailored to his clients’ needs and change the course of major disputes in a favorable direction for his clients. Outside of his practice, Lance has achieved the rank of captain in the military. He graduated from the JAG Officer Basic Course and the U.S. Army Airborne School as a military paratrooper. Through his background and work with major international companies, Lance maintains a global network of high-level government and government-related contacts.
