Paul Cheuk is a partner in the Corporate department and also one of the key senior members in the Investment Funds practice in the Hong Kong office. He practises in the area of corporate law, specialising in Cayman funds, joint ventures/private equity, securities/debt offerings, and capital restructurings. Recent transactions on which Paul has worked include Cayman registered and closed-ended funds, Bermuda compulsory acquisition, joint venture, initial public offerings, debt issuance, MTN programme, capital restructuring and shareholders’ requisitions. Paul joined Appleby in May 2002. Prior to that he worked in a major Hong Kong law firm in the area of commercial litigation and spent a year studying in Japan. Paul has been recognised as a “Rising Star” by IFLR 1000 4 years in a row from 2017 – 2021. Clients described Paul as “excellent…very technically knowledgeable and the advice he gives will be reliable and sound”. Another client says he provides “detailed and professional advisory services”. Paul is fluent in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, Taiwanese and conversational Japanese.
