Timothy Speelman is a partner and attorney-at-law at AKD. His practice focuses on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital (including risk capital) investments, exits and management buy-outs. . He also advises companies on corporate governance matters and restructurings. Timothy’s clients include private and listed companies, management and investment funds. According to the Legal 500 EMEA clients appreciate him for being a ‘natural leader’ (2017 edition), for his ‘sharpness of analysis’ (2016 edition) and for being ‘a good negotiator’ (2015 edition). He is also recommended in the Leaders League. Timothy is a member of the Brussels Bar since 1997. He holds an LLM (with honours) from King’s College London, a master’s degree in law (licentiaat), with distinction, from KU Leuven, and a bachelor’s degree in law (candidat) from the Université de Namur. He speaks Dutch, English and French. Timothy is an active member of the Belgian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (BVA).
