Christopher Sveen is Head of Haavind’s Aquaculture, Offshore and Industry practice. Christopher is a trusted advisor to clients within both the offshore, aquaculture and process industry, as well as to clients within the transport infrastructure industry. He is frequently used as legal counsel and negotiator in both domestic and cross-border matters, transactions and disputes. Christopher gained operative and strategic executive management experience from inter alia being an associated member of a multinational Executive Management Team, a member of various management boards and committees, and from being a non-executive director of a captive insurance company. Christopher has been a strategic and commercial advisor to the executive management and board of directors of numerous offshore construction and oil-service companies. His previous roles in (former) Kværner, the law firm BA-HR, and as general counsel for Aker Solutions’ global operations have provided extensive domestic and international experience from the establishment, execution and completion of complex oil and gas development projects, large industry facility projects and various other complex supply- and construction matters. Over the recent years, he has been engaged in projects for newbuilds, modifications and maintenance of offshore platforms, subsea systems og onshore facilities for oil & gas exploration and production, offshore electrification projects, offshore and onshore wind projects and various projects related to CO2 reduction and carbon capture, utilisation and storage. In addition he has been central in setting the procurement models and strategies for some of the key builders and owners of public transportation infrastructure. Christopher also assist in acquisitions, divestments and restructuring of corporations, and in securing good corporate governance and ESG management. He led the negotiations for the contractors in the development of the current Norwegian standard offshore contracts – NTK 15, NTK 15 Module and Modification, NTK15 Modification and NF 15 – and was central as co-author and moderator in the establishment of the new Norwegian Conditions for Purchase (NIB 16). He is also acting on behalf of the Norwegian Federation of Industries as Norway’s representative in the legal working groups maintaining and developing the Orgalim standard conditions and publications and the equivalent Nordic supply conditions (NLM, NL, etc.). Currently, he is also engaged as the mediator and drafter in the Sjømat Norge`s initiative to establish standard supply conditions for the aquaculture industry. Christopher is a top 3-ranked attorney within offshore and oil service in the annual lawyers’ survey conducted by the daily financial Finansavisen and is ranked by Chambers within Energy; Oil & Gas, by Legal 500 within Offshore Construction and Shipbuilding and by IFLR 1000 within project development.
