Bio

Roger Gill is managing director of the UK subsidiary of XMS. Starting out as an engineer with Schlumberger in the Middle East and Africa, he moved to a UK-based international electronics company and became director of strategic planning. He started a gas company with one of the newly privatized UK electricity companies, launched a corporate venturing initiative and became involved in Central European privatizations. During his five years at Baring Private Equity Partners he was responsible for investments in various sectors across Europe. Since then, he has worked for NESTA and the Scottish government on technology, energy and other investing. He joined XMS in 2011. Roger has degrees from the University of Birmingham, University College London, the University of Geneva (IMI/IMD) and the Open University. He has a Ph.D. from Birmingham City University.
