Jamil Ali is a managing director for William Blair based in the firm's Chicago office. Jamil leads public company coverage and execution for businesses positioned within the industrials and consumer & retail sectors. He has more than 18 years of experience advising companies on matters involving corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, business separations, sales, shareholder engagement, capital structure, and capital allocation. Prior to William Blair, Jamil worked at Lazard, Citi, and ABN Amro in Chicago, New York, and London. Jamil holds an M.B.A., with high distinction, from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He graduated magna cum laude with his B.S.B.A. in finance and accounting from Washington University in St. Louis.
