Thomas Friebel Bio

Thomas Friebel is a Managing Director at Whitehall focusing on debt and equity placement, project financing and infrastructure development in the US and Emerging Markets with over 25 years of investment banking expertise focusing on capital markets. Before joining Whitehall he was the Head of Debt Syndicate at Haitong Securities in New York, the second largest securities company in China that in 2016 bought the investment banking division of Espirito Santo. Prior to this, Mr. Friebel spent the majority of his career at WestLB New York, heading the distribution and placement efforts of WestLB’s Latin America platform, focusing on structured transaction in the oil & gas, energy, mining, and commodities sectors. In his career at WestLB, Mr. Friebel worked on numerous award winning transactions while developing WestLB into one of the premiere centers of competence in the Latin American structured debt markets.
