Bio

Marc Lichtman is the firm’s national director of SEC and PCAOB matters and a member of the firm’s national management committee that oversees the national audit and assurance practice. He is also the leader of the audit and assurance practice for the Great Lakes region. Marc is the lead partner managing audit and business advisory services for clients ranging from private, entrepreneurial startups to publicly held, multinational clients. He has extensive experience assisting companies with public offerings, SEC reporting, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence services, budgeting and forecasting, and accounting for complex transactions. He provides technical guidance on accounting and auditing matters with significant knowledge of accounting for business combinations, share-based compensation, complex debt and equity transactions, income taxes, and revenue recognition. He assists clients in developing and implementing strategies to improve operating efficiencies and profitability. His audit expertise has been a critical component of the national cannabis practice. He leads a team providing a wide range of cannabis accounting services such as audit and review of financial statements, annual financial statements and capitalization attestation as required by the Marijuana Regulatory Agency. Marc has a strong, working knowledge of internal control under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, including having been responsible for the planning, execution, and monitoring of internal control over financial reporting at a public company. He was an audit partner with Arthur Andersen LLP for thirteen years, and he has also served as Chief Financial Officer of TechTeam Global, formerly a publicly held US multinational corporation operating in thirteen countries.
