Mr. Tyler has worked across the global chemical industry for over 20 years from the perspectives of investing, M&A, financial restructuring and strategic planning. For over ten years at the start of his career he was a ranked sell-side analyst at firms including Goldman Sachs and UBS. He worked on many high-profile IPOs within the sector, including Syngenta, Arkema, Rhodia (Solvay) and Ciba (BASF). Mr. Tyler was well-known for producing research which was original in its thinking, visionary and longer-term oriented. Mr. Tyler then moved over to the advisory-side and during the financial crisis originated and worked on restructuring transactions including LyondellBasell, INEOS, Chemtura (Lanxess) and PolymerLatex (Synthomer). He supported the Dow management team as an expert witness in the Rohm & Haas vs Dow Court case in the US. Mr. Tyler has worked on M&A transactions from the bolt-on to the transformation, an example of the latter being the combination of Georgia Gulf and PPG’s chloro-alkali activities to form Axiall, before its subsequent acquisition by Westlake.
