Sam M. Ditzion is the founder and CEO of Boston-based Tremont Capital Group, Inc., the nation’s leading provider of strategic planning and consulting, research, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory services to the ATM, ITM, managed services, and cash servicing industries. In the ATM industry, Mr. Ditzion has advised more than 100 ATM deployers (both bank and non-bank), accounting for more than 275,000 ATMs around the world, including 4 of the top-5 deployers in the United States. Mr. Ditzion has extensive strategic planning and M&A advisory experience within the overall financial services, retail banking, payments, and ATM/ self-service sectors. He has been involved in the majority of the ATM industry’s high-profile M&A transactions over the past two decades. Mr. Ditzion has advised financial institutions, non-bank ATM operators, ATM and kiosk manufacturers, ATM/kiosk maintenance providers, payment processors, armored service companies, hedge and private equity funds, and law firms on a range of industry issues. He has advised companies about market entry strategies and conducted extensive research and analyses in the areas of advanced functionality ATM and kiosk consumer preferences. Mr. Ditzion also serves as an active member and consultant to the ATM Industry Association (ATMIA), a global trade association with more than 12,000 members in 66 countries, which has honored Mr. Ditzion with its Outstanding Service Award for his intellectual leadership. Mr. Ditzion currently serves on the ATMIA’s Independent ATM Deployer committee and previously spent more than a combined eight years serving on the U.S. Board’s Steering Committee and U.S. ATM Forum. Mr. Ditzion frequently speaks at industry conferences and has briefed the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and United States Secret Service (USSS) on financial crimes. He has also lectured to faculty and students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Media Lab and Center for Future Banking. He has written papers published by the American Bankers Association, American Banker, and Payment Systems Worldwide. Mr. Ditzion also co-authored an in-depth report on the non-bank financial institution and check-cashing industries published by the United States Department of the Treasury. Mr. Ditzion has been interviewed as an expert in the financial services, payments, and ATM industries by the Wall Street Journal, NY Times, New Yorker Magazine, Boston Globe, Washington Post, MarketWatch, Forbes, Fortune Magazine, NPR, Fox Business Network, and Bloomberg TV.
