Sean is an experienced senior executive with a broad background in investment banking, merchant banking & investing, capital markets and treasury. Much of this experience was gained at Goldman Sachs in Australia where he spent 10 years and held a number of senior positions, including Managing Director and Head of the Principal Investment Area (PIA) and Head of Capital Products Group in Australia and New Zealand. PIA managed approximately A$1 bn of Goldman Sach’s investable capital. Prior to his time in PIA Sean had extensive experience at Goldman within the Financing Group, co-leading the firm’s efforts in the Capital Products business, which incorporates Goldman Sachs’ Australian debt capital markets, structured financing, leveraged finance and equity linked business. In this capacity Sean lead or was a key advisor on some of Australia’s most prominent financing transactions. During this time he developed a reputation for leadership, innovation, delivery and integrity. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs in 2002, Sean was Head of Structured Finance and Securitisation at SG Australia and previously held positions with Westpac Banking Corporation in Treasury and Institutional Banking. Sean commenced a career in finance with Citibank in 1992, prior to which he was an officer in the Royal Australian Navy. Sean completed a BA at the University of New South Wales.
