Brett Pope is a Managing Director on the Capital Markets Team. Brett joined Torreya in the fall of 2020 and has over 20 years of investment experience in the healthcare sector, analyzing investments up and down the capital structure. Brett has invested in many sectors within healthcare ranging from early stage to mature companies. He has served in several capacities such as executive management, investment research, board director and has managed investment portfolios in excess of $5 billion. Most recently, Brett was a private investor in multiple businesses and an independent consultant. Previously, he was CEO at SWK Holdings Corporation, a life science focused specialty finance company. Prior to SWK, Brett was a partner at multiple investment firms with a focus on the healthcare sector investing in a variety of credit and equity transactions. Brett received a BBA, magna cum laude, in Finance from the University of Texas at Austin and is a CFA charterholder.
