Bio

Allen joined Torreya Partners in 2013 to strengthen our coverage in the generic space. As an experienced business development and finance professional, Allen had spent his 20+ year career at some of the largest generic companies in the world and was involved in some of the largest transactions in the sector. Prior to Torreya, Allen was Vice President, Business Development and Licensing at Sandoz USA, where he directed all generic and brand product-licensing, product and company acquisition activities. In his role, Allen led a 15-person team and completed 23 transactions for Sandoz during his time, of which one landmark transaction was Sandoz’s $1.5 billion acquisition of Fougera. Previously, Allen spent almost two decades at Teva, assuming increasing responsibilities over the years and having worked at both its Israel headquarters and later in the US. From 2009 to 2010, he was the global CFO of Teva’s API Commercial Operations, overseeing all financial and business development activities for this $2.6 billion division, where he led numerous strategic initiatives to expand Teva’s presence in the API space through partnerships, manufacturer acquisitions, and product acquisitions. Before taking the global role, Allen served as the CFO for Teva’s North America API Business Unit for 3 years after holding positions in business development, finance, and management. Over his tenure at Teva, Allen was involved in its $3.4 billion acquisition of Sicor, strategic alliances with Impax and Perrigo, and the acquisition of Novopharm. Allen started his career at Schering-Plough. Allen received his MBA and B.S. from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
