Scott has owned and run advertising, marketing, PR, and video production shops. He has led mergers and sales of for-profit and nonprofit corporations, run and sold a family-owned bank, produced a national PBS documentary, was President of a Carnegie Mellon University spin-out technology company, ran a $1.3 billion trust and investment management company, and spent close to a decade with Robert Morris University developing strategic plans, doing governance interventions, and performing financial analyses for nonprofit organizations of all types and sizes. In addition, he has completed formal university training as an Executive Coach. Since joining TobinLeff, Scott has focused on completing sell-side and buy-side transactions for clients, as well as leading multiple strategic planning initiatives. Scott holds a BA in English and Creative Writing from Haverford College and a Master's in Business and Technology from Carnegie Mellon University. Scott has served on several bank boards of directors, as well as more than 20 nonprofit boards. Among other creative activities, he was awarded a PA Council on the Arts Screenwriting Fellowship, and he wrote, produced, and directed a nationally broadcast PBS documentary. He and his wife, Marilyn McDaniel, live in Pittsburgh, PA. They have two grown sons.
