Fred joined Raine as a Partner in 2014. Prior to joining, Fred was one of three Founding Partners of CODE Advisors, where he worked with companies such as Spotify, Supercell, Shazam and Buddy Media. Before founding CODE in 2010, Fred was the Senior Partner of the leading Entertainment/New Media Law Firm of Davis Shapiro & Lewit. At Davis Shapiro, he focused on advising Digital Media companies to realize their goals of establishing new business models for music, film and television content in the new media space. His clients included digital media companies such as Spotify, YouTube, Hulu, iLike, Last.FM, Rhapsody and Stardoll, amongst others. Formerly an Executive Vice President at EMI Records, Fred has received the ACLU’s Bill of Rights Award and the UJA Music Visionary of the Year Award, and was a member of the Board of Directors for the 9/11 Fund. He received his BA from Tufts University in 1981 and his JD from Fordham Law in 1985.
