Alex Allgood is a Managing Director of The Peakstone Group, where he is responsible for transaction origination and execution. Alex has over 23 years of experience across a range of investment banking and principal investment roles over 10 years of experience in working with middle market and lower middle market owner/entrepreneur-owned and family-owned businesses where he has developed a keen understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with these businesses. Over the course of his career, Alex has closed over $40 billion of M&A and restructuring transactions. Alex is also the founder of VeriQuest Capital Management, LP, an investment firm that invests private equity and private debt in lower middle market businesses and actively works with management to create value for all stakeholders through a range of strategic initiatives. This principal experience is highly differentiated and allows Alex to deliver buyers’ perspectives in order to add value to sell-side and buy-side investment banking clients. Over the last 13 years, Alex has invested in private equity, private debt and public equities on behalf of institutional and family office investors and advised lower middle market companies on a range of M&A, restructuring and capital formation transactions. Prior to this, Alex was a Senior Vice President in the Mergers & Acquisitions department at Lehman Brothers Inc. in New York, NY and Menlo Park, CA where he spent over 9 years sourcing and executing M&A, buyout and restructuring transactions, primarily in the Consumer, Industrials, Business Services and Technology sectors. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers, Alex worked in the Corporate Finance Group at Nesbitt Burns Securities, Inc. (now BMO Capital Markets) in New York, NY where he focused primarily on M&A and capital raising transactions and at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in a non-audit, financial advisory capacity. Throughout his career, Alex has been a proven trusted advisor to many clients, including GE, Siemens, Danaher, Dana Corporation, Tompkins PLC, QUALCOMM, ADC Telecommunications, Seagate Technology, Vitesse Semiconductor, Starwood Corporation and other large cap and middle market clients. Alex focuses on a range of transaction types including full or partial sales of assets or stock to strategic or financial buyers (Primary Focus), restructurings (Primary Focus), securing growth equity, debt or other capital and other strategic transactions. Also, Alex is particularly adept at executing complex transactions. Alex is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a BA in Finance and an MBA with a concentration in Finance and Dean’s List distinction.
