Bio

Robert Mead is Chairman, Americas with Teneo. Over the course of his 30+ years as a strategic advisor and senior executive, Robert has counseled the CEOs and Boards of many high-profile corporations in managing through complex strategic and portfolio transformations, including sales, separations and spins. Robert joined Teneo in 2015 and leads many of the firm’s largest global client relationships. He has advised on numerous situations across M&A, activist defense, financial restructurings, Board and management changes, regulatory challenges, litigation support, as well as operational, financial and legal crises. Prior to joining Teneo, Robert was Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Aetna, responsible for Aetna’s brand, marketing, communications, public affairs and social responsibility functions. Robert led the overhaul of Aetna’s marketing strategy to move beyond B2B to direct engagement with consumers as well as a complete repositioning of the Aetna brand. He was also a member of Aetna’s Executive Committee, the senior governing body for the company. Previously, Robert was a partner at Brunswick Group LLP, an international corporate and financial communications consulting firm. Prior to joining Brunswick, he was the President of Gavin Anderson & Co., a global consulting firm specializing in investor relations and financial and public affairs. Prior to that, he was President of Sawyer Miller Consulting. He spent his early career in politics and government in Texas, including at the General Land Office, which manages the state’s oil and gas assets. Robert received his bachelor’s degree and attended the Executive M.B.A. program at the University of Texas; as well as executive programs in finance, management, marketing and product development at Texas, Babson College, Kellogg and MIT Sloan.
