Bio

As Region Head of Europe for TD Securities, Sharon is charged with setting the strategic direction for both the UK and the European continent. She is responsible for oversight of all regional operations and risk management, fostering effective relationships with regulators. Sharon also serves as Co-Chair on our ESG Solutions team. Sharon brings over 25 years of industry experience. Since joining TD Securities in 2006, she has held increasingly senior roles and has served as Co-Head of Global Foreign Exchange and is well accustomed to managing teams of specialists spanning TD Securities' global footprint. She has a track record of turning around seemingly mature businesses through technology and innovation, raising the profile of the product across the broader organization. Since 2010, Sharon has been a committee member of the TD Securities Underwriting Hope Campaign & Auction, previously serving as Co-Chair, and chaired the United Way High Value Giving Campaign for TD Securities. She has been intimately involved in TD Securities' diversity and inclusion recruitment efforts and has hired from Women in Capital Markets' Return to Bay Street program. Sharon served on the board of TD Securities' Women in Leadership Executive Committee and is actively involved in TD Securities' Women in Technology community. Additional executive board involvement includes eight years on the board of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Toronto, the past five of which have been as Executive Board Member & Treasurer. In 2019, Sharon was awarded the WXN Canada's 100 Most Powerful Women distinction in the Trailblazers & Trendsetters category. Sharon obtained her Master of Business Administration degree from the Schulich School of Business at York University, where she focused on financial engineering. In her undergraduate program, she majored in math and minored in writing while attending McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.
