Piers joined Strata in early 2021. He focuses primarily on the software, IT services and e-commerce sectors, advising on capital raising and M&A transactions. Prior to Strata, he was a Managing Director at First Capital for twelve years, where he advised companies such as Teachers2Parents on its sale to Education Brands, bloomsbury.ai on its sale to Facebook, and Salmon on its sale to WPP. Other successful assignments include work for UK and European companies such as CareWorks, CoScale, Designmynight, FirstAgenda and NetDespatch. Prior to his time at First Capital, Piers advised TMT clients on a wide variety of buy side and sell side M&A transactions, privatisations, IPOs and other equity capital markets transactions at UBS Warburg, Bear Stearns and others from 1996 to 2008. During that time, his clients included BT, China Telecom, Deutsche Telekom, Electronic Data Systems, Minorplanet, NeuroSearch, Pacific Century Cyberworks, Portugal Telecom and Swisscom.
