Bio

Mr. Stutz brings fifteen years of investment banking and over twenty years of operational experience to Stevenson & Company. He has been the president/CEO of four organizations and has advised business owners and operators on M&A matters from the perspective of having once been in their positions. Bob has had operating experience in a number of industries including electrical/electronic components, automotive, highway safety, packaging and aerospace. He has advised companies in a number of other industries including machine tool, distribution, logistics and industrial power. Throughout his career, Bob has had extensive international experience including in Europe, Asia, Australia and South America. Prior to joining Stevenson & Company, Bob was Managing Director at two Chicago based boutique investment banks, Kinsella Group and Sikich Investment Banking. During that time, he was involved in over 50 transactions on both the sell and buy side including a number of cross-border projects. Clients ranged from Fortune 100 companies to family owners to Private Equity Firms. Bob’s operational experience includes senior sales/marketing and planning roles at General Electric, General Motors and Cooper Industries. He was recruited as General Manager of Cherry Corporation’s Automotive Group which was a global tier one supplier of electrical components to the automotive OEMs. Subsequently, Bob was CEO at Stimsonite, a NASDAQ listed international manufacturer of highway safety products and led the effort leading to its successful acquisition by Avery Dennison. Bob was also president at Label Makers, Inc., a family owned consumer packaging company, and also president at Montana Metal Products, a supplier of metal fabrications to the aerospace and medical equipment markets. Bob holds an MBA degree from Harvard University and a ScB degree in Engineering from Brown University. He is a current member of the Chicago chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and a past member of Vistage International.
