Jason has been working at the centre of aerospace and defence Mergers and Acquisitions activity in the US and Europe for over 25 years and is ranked by MergerMarket as one of the top three aerospace and defence M&A practitioners in Europe by volume of deals transacted. Since founding the firm at the beginning of 2005, Jason has established Steen Associates as a firm in the aerospace defence and industrials M&A sectors both in Europe and the US. His main focus is developing and initiating innovative M&A execution and strategies for long-established clients of the firm, as well as building relationships with other companies in the aerospace and defence and industrials sectors to which Steen is able to offer a counter-point to traditional thinking. Jason also manages the business in London and together with Joerg Freimund ensures the business is at the forefront of execution and origination excellence in the core M&A markets. Prior to setting up Steen Associates, Jason led the industrials M&A teams at SG Hambros in London and SG Cowen in New York spanning a 10-year period from 1996. His principal clients included the main large UK and European aerospace and defence companies together with a large range of private equity companies and their international aerospace and industrial portfolio companies. He began his career at Baring Brothers and Granville Baird in the early 1990s. He is CF30 approved by the FCA and held the FINRA Series 7, 24 and 79 licenses while operating in the USA. Jason received an MBA from London Business School and has a First Class undergraduate degree in Politics from the University of Bristol. He sits on the Boards of aerospace parts suppliers, Altaras International, Tarpey Harris and Morvern Group where he is Chairman as well as being a director of Steen Associates.
